Gallery Submissions

Welcome and thank you for your interest in joining Rox Arts Gallery, a CO-OP gallery sponsored and managed by the Roxborough Arts Council (RAC).

The Roxborough Arts Council (RAC) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization founded in 2007. Our Mission is to enrich the lives in our community by bringing artists and others together. Funded by membership, grants, and donations, RAC supports our mission by providing venues for artists to exhibit their works and forums for them to share information and receive feedback for artistic growth, (ROX Arts Gallery). We offer art classes for the public and host free monthly receptions in the gallery. We also organize the placement of public sculpture through Art Encounters, conduct outside art shows, and sponsor annual projects fostering art creatives and art appreciation in our community. Joining the gallery is taking part in our RAC Mission.

We manage our gallery as a volunteer team led by the RAC Board of Directors and ask our artists to participate in our operational activities. Our success is due to our artists fostering our gallery community. We value connecting our network of artists with patrons of the arts.

Our intention for the gallery is to offer high quality art with a broad diversity in styles, mediums, and techniques to include varied price points.

This is the criteria we use to jury:

  • Quality and consistency of art: considering technique, medium, supplies used, and subject/style of art;
  • Gallery quality presentation;
  • Sufficient body of work

The jurors consider all information you send to us as well as how your art will enhance the diversity of what we are currently showing in the gallery.

The following are Requirements to join us in the gallery:

  • There is a non-refundable jury fee of $25.00. Please select the “Pay Jury Fee” button below prior to submitting your information and images.
  • If you have previously shown in the gallery within the past year and are a member of RAC in good standing, you are not required to pay the $25 jury fee; we do require jpegs of the current art you intend to show in the gallery.
  • Your jury fee can be applied toward your first year’s annual membership dues of $50.00 in the RAC. Membership is a requirement if you show in the gallery.
  • You must agree to sign-up and work 3 (4 1⁄2 hour) sessions in the gallery each month.
  • Gallery space rent ranges from $45 - $95 per month depending on the size of the available space.
  • There is a 15% Commission on sales of artwork.
  • We require an initial 3-month commitment to stay in the gallery and require a 30-day notice if leaving the gallery.
  • To submit your application: send an email with a brief description of your involvement in the arts, your process used to create, and other information about your art including a link to your website or other publications. Please attach eight digital images of your current work you intend to show in the gallery. Email these to the jury chairperson, using the “Submit Application” button below after paying your jury fee.

Your submission will be forwarded to the jury team for consideration. The jury members will review your submission and you will be notified of the decision within two weeks. When accepted by the jury and you have met the requirements, you will be contacted by a gallery manager, offered a space in the gallery if available, or with your permission, be added to our Waiting List. Please know that if your art is not selected, you may re-apply at a later time.
